The Player's Guild (at the Festival Playhouse)
Charles Ault started the Players Guild in 1936 as a means to put food on the table in the middle of the depression. A love for the theatre and a creative mind brought a group of talented community actors and actress together to provide the public with live entertainment. This concept was later passed on to his son Charley Ault, Jr. who now runs the Players Guild. By age 8 Charley was in his first play, and directing by age 26. He fully took over the business by age 29 at which time he had been married for 10 years, had a 9 year old son and a 5 year old daughter. The Players Guild performed there for 14 yrs after which they traveled around the city, performing in such places as Lorretto Heights and Houston Fine Arts Center for 8 years. In 1990 they found their new home at the Festival Playhouse in Old Town Arvada. Donna and Charley are still together to this day and that is why the Players Guild is still a success.

Colorado Art Ranch
Colorado Art Ranch serves as a retreat for writers and visual artists. Artists and writers who attend Colorado Art Ranch have:
*A place to immerse themselves in their work
*Time to experiment, think and develop their work
*An opportunity to collaborate with artists, writers, and the community
Individual donors are the backbone of Colorado Art Ranch. In return, the lives of contributors are changed as they:
*Foster the careers of talented artists and writers
*Sponsor Artposium speakers who alter the way we view our culture and environment
*Help invigorate rural communities through arts redevelopment
Colorado Art Ranch takes place in small Colorado towns, but its benefits are wide-ranging. From Beowulf and the cave paintings to Robert Rauschenberg and Annie Proulx, writers and artists have changed the world. Artists and writers rouse us from our intellectual somnolence, inspire us, give us joy, and connect us to beauty. They give us glimpses into our own souls.
